Turoa Ski Area Mt Ruapehu

Turoa Ski Area lies on the southwestern slopes of Mount Ruapehu. It has the longest vertical descent of any ski area in Australasia and also boasts New Zealand’s highest chairlift - the Highnoon Express.

Turoa Ski Area is a favourite with those who enjoy the space and freedom of its wide, open runs, but there are also plenty of chutes, bowls and natural half-pipes if you want a challenge.

Advanced skiers and riders will love the 25 black and double-black diamond runs and the two lift-accessed backcountry areas (Solitude/Organ Pipes and the Triangle/Glacier) which offer a vast variety of terrain.
