Three (3) Day Long Weekend / Midweek Break

Day One

Arriving in Taupo, jump start your stay with a leap off one of the Taupo top ten activities - the 47m high platform above the scenic Waikato River with Taupo Bungy, solo or tandem... your choice. Or you would prefer the Cliff Hanger Swing…?

Skydive over Taupo

Next it is out to the airport to experience the adrenaline of a 12,000ft or 15,000ft skydive, freefalling at 200km an hour with Taupo Tandem Skydive or Skydive Taupo.

Want a more leisurely afternoon? Purchase a fun pass at the Huka Prawn Park and enjoy a delicious lunch by the Waikato River in their Riverside Restaurant and Bar.

Finish the afternoon with a visit to Orakei Korako, a hidden thermal valley of colour, Taupo hot springs, geysers and natural beauty or Wai-O-Tapu, a wonderland of stunning geothermal activity.

Once you have checked in to your accommodation, head to the Lake Taupo Hole-In-One Challenge along the Lake Terrace for some golfing fun as you try for the top prize with a hole in one out on the pontoon on the lake.

Day Two

After a brunch at one of our fantastic cafes, visit the Taupo Museum filled with Taupo District stories, Maori treasures, art galleries and the Ora – Garden of Wellbeing.

Then it is off to the southern end of the lake where you will experience some “oarsome” fun on a Grade 3 rafting trip with White Water Rafting and then complete the day with a visit to the Tokaanu Thermal Pools where you can spend some time relaxing before the drive back to Taupo.

Day Three

Scenic Flight over Tongariro National Park

Start the day with a breathtaking scenic helicopter flight with HeliPro or Helisika over Lake Taupo, the surrounding thermal areas, or fly south over the volcanoes of the Tongariro National Park.

Next it is off for an easy 1.5 hour kayak on the crystal clear waters of the mighty Waikato River, drift by the drop zone of Taupo Bungy and you can stop for a soak in natural Taupo hot pools before completing your paddle and heading back to your accommodation.
