Huka Prawn Park
On the banks of the beautiful Waikato River, just minutes from Taupo, you will find the unique family playground of Huka Prawn Park. Highlights include taking a tour of the prawn farm - it's just long enough to get all the info you need but short enough that the kids didn’t lose interest. After learning some tips, you can try your hand at prawn fishing and catch yourself some lunch. If they're not biting, you can always dine at the Riverside Restaurant overlooking the Waikato River. Huka Falls River Cruise
Huka Falls River Cruise is a gentle way to explore the Waikato River. You can experience awesome views of Huka Falls (New Zealand's highest volume waterfall) from this purpose built riverboat, with comfortable inside seating, large rear deck and front viewing platform. Tongariro Trout Centre
The Tongariro Trout Centre is a fun way to learn about the history of fishing and how the Taupo fishery is managed. There are over 20 species of both native and introduced fish and crustacea to see, each with their own unique place in New Zealand’s freshwater environment. You can feed the trout in the kid's pond, a large crystal clear pond filled with hungry trout.
Take a nature walk along the banks of the mighty Tongariro River and enjoy a picnic. You might see an angler catch a wild trout, enjoy the native bush and spot tui and kereru. You can also see the endangered whio ducklings in the Whio Forever Project. There's nothing more fun than zipping through a hydro slide into gloriously warm water. Here in Great Lake Taupo you have the added benefit of the water being naturally thermally heated.

Rock climbing wall
The Rockwall is an all-weather, adventure climbing wall for all ages and abilities. The wall is 12-metres high with numerous routes to suit beginners to advanced climbers. There friendly instructors will show you how it is done and give you expert tips and encouragement. With so many routes to choose from, you can stay an hour or all day! Hire a bike or bring your own and take advantage of the many awesome bike trails in Great Lake Taupo.
