Inviting Adrenalin Seekers for a Day in the Wairakei Tourist Park

Wairakei Tourist Park offers you a shot or two of adrenalin (at various levels).

Feel the fear and do it anyway at Rock’n Ropes – Taupo’s adventure ropes course. There are different adventure options for you to choose from, depending on your nerves and how much time you’ve got. An average degree of unfitness and a genuine fear of heights are quite acceptable.

You’ll need a sit down after that so head on down the road to Hukafalls Jet. This 30 minute thrilling jet boat ride offers a unique combination of excitement and natural beauty. Combine 360° spins and passing nature by incredibly close at disorientating speeds for an amazing must-do experience, before even reaching the awe inspiring majesty that is the Huka Falls.

With your legs recovered (we hope) head to Rapid Sensations and choose from their adrenalin list of mountain biking, Kayaking Kiwi Adventures and white water rafting. Whether a beginner or experienced in any of these activities the team will have the options for you.

ver 80km of mountain bike tracks for you to enjoy in the Wairakei Tourist Park

Biking is big in Taupo. Bike Taupo, with the support of the Department of Conservation, has created over 80km of mountain bike tracks for you to enjoy in the Wairakei Tourist Park. Bike Taupo’s mountain bike tracks are internationally recognised as world class and available for all cycling abilities.

Spend an hour or a day biking in the park with friends or the family – or just go it alone. The free draining pumice tracks mean they can be ridden in any weather.

If you need a break in the day and a counter to the adrenalin, cycle down to the Wairakei Thermal Valley to enjoy their decadent home-style baking and Devonshire teas. If you have the family with you it’s a must for the array of animals and wildlife that have made it their home.

Get into the Wairakei Tourist Park for your shot of adrenalin.
