Great Lake Taupo is the largest fresh water lake in the Southern Hemisphere. The 360° panoramic views are simply amazing and there are many great ways to enjoy Great Lake Taupo.
Boat charters or kayak hire are easy options, or take in one of the many Lake Taupo cruise and sailing excursions. A sunset cruise to the Maori Rock Carvings is a must do!
The lakes and rivers have great swimming spots and there are thermal swimming complexes if that's more for you.
Pure adrenaline is also in abundance on Great Lake Taupo. Windsurfing, water skiing, wake-boarding and parasailing add life and colour to the lake. Or try the new Stand Up Paddle boarding that has taken waterways of the world by storm and now the sport has made it to Great Lake Taupo.
