Taupo, Turangi & Tongariro Job Vacancies

Every once in a while comes an excellent opportunity to work within Taupo District Council or its subsidiary companies so keep your ears opened and your eyes peeled as you never know what positions are available!

We are currently looking for :

1. Bloggers to blog about the attractions and things to do within the Great Lake Taupo region and build the online presence of GreatLakeTaupō .com.

We are looking for these 3 categories :

Family – what to do and where to go / stay with a family, free and cheap things to do, family friendly eating places, the limits on activities to suit different aged children e.g. You must be 1.0m tall to ride on Hukafalls Jet, tips for travelling with kids and grandma, top 10 things to do with kids in the region, holiday emergencies – where to take sick kids, what to look for, being safe on the Lake this summer, travelling with special needs / disabled. This target is families, keeping in mind that families come in different shapes and sizes e.g. travelling on your own with kids.

Outdoor Adventures – to cover water sports, outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, golf, skiing, adventure activities, mountain biking, hiking. Specific topics to cover are Tongariro Crossing, top fishing spots, the secrets to fishing the Tongariro, best biking tracks, maps to hunting areas, safety tips, preparing your catch, best gear recommendations, eco-tourism / sustainability, experiences at specific events e.g. Cycle Challenge. Target market for this communication is domestic and international visitors attracted to the region by its “hooks” – the activities it is famous for. The age of this person may vary from an 18 year old adrenaline junkie, to an active hiker / mountain biker to a retired fisherman.

Life’s Finer Things - to cover dining, wine tasting, arts, culture, hidden gems of the region, unique selling points, quirky facts, historical context, high end products, boutique shopping, spa treatments, pampering. Target market for this communication is higher socio economic, mature aged, educated, high yield visitors.
