Memories of Great Lake Taupō are in demand this summer as the destination marketing organisation asks kiwis nationally to think and remember the good times they have shared in the region. A prize package of $5,000 is up for grabs for the best memory, together with a weekend escape at Huka Falls Resort.
General Manager of Destination Great Lake Taupō, Scott Pearson is optimistic about the summer season ahead, anticipating positive visitor arrivals. “Happy times spent with family and friends is the essence of a great holiday - The Great Memories campaign is all about capturing these both from the past, and for this summer. It is fun to reminisce and we hope this encourages people to come back and see what has changed.”
A six-week television programme will re-inforce the message “Isn’t it time you came back to Great Lake Taupō?” Airing in Auckland, Wellington and the central north island the commercial encourages a visit to GreatLakeTaupo.com/GreatMemories. Here visitors and locals alike can post photos, a video clip or send an email to enter. Also on offer are a raft of summer activities and accommodation offers valid until February 2012.
“Entries are already pouring in,” commented Campaign Marketing Manager Donna Jarden, “it seems lots of people throughout New Zealand can recall a happy holiday on the shores of Lake Taupō, fishing on the Tongariro River or the thrill of conquering the Alpine Crossing. We’ll pick the region’s greatest memory and invite the winner back to make new memories on us”.
The Great Memories television campaign starts Monday 7th of November on TV1.
