Lions Walk
On the edge of the lake...
The grand and dramatic name, 'Lions Walk', captures the essence of this magnificent trail. The walkway was formed on the lake reserve by the TaupÅ Lions Club and is an easy, level path that borders the scenic lake edge. The Lions Walk begins at Two Mile Bay Boat Ramp and follows the lakeshore south. Kowhai trees have been planted along the way to provide shelter for local wildlife. Ducks and swans can usually be seen on the lakeshore. Shags are common and birds can be heard.
This beautiful walk along the shore is restful and relaxing. With stunning scenery and lapping lake water on the pumice beaches, this is a therapeutic and healthy walk for any age group.
