Rive Gauche B&B Lodge
Rive Gauche offers stylish lodge-style B&B and self-catering studio options in a semi-rural setting 2 km from Taupo CBD. Extensive grounds overlook the Waikato River near Huka Falls and include landscaped gardens and our own private vineyard. Enjoy affordable luxury in a peaceful, convenient location with well-travelled Kiwi hosts. English and French spoken.
Accommodation is in 3 rooms, one being a S/C studio unit. Bedrooms are as follows: queen, king + king single, and king (studio). Rooms are well appointed, with en suite bathrooms, quality bedding, under-floor heating, hair dryers and toiletries. All have access to a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, free Wifi and satellite TV. A generous breakfast (continental + cooked) is included in the tariff, however our guests in the studio may choose room-only accommodation for a lesser tariff. All rooms are at ground level with independent access and adjacent off-street parking.
Our main lounge has Sky TV and you are invited to relax there or in our garden courtyard. A welcome drink awaits and a pre-dinner drink is regularly offered before you head out to dine in one of Taupo’s many restaurants.
Nearby Wairakei tourist park offers car-free activites: walking and cycling trails, International golf course, Craters of the Moon Thermal area, jet boat and kayak trips, prawn park, and a Maori cultural experience (courtesy transport available). Rive Gauche is 30-40 minutes drive to the main thermal areas of the North Island, approx one hour from Rotorua and Tongariro National Park and less than 2 hours from Napier and Waitomo.
